Goals for 2009
I set a couple of New Year’s Resolutions last year, which I didn’t get around to posting here. One of them was to write 52 tracks, which I finished. I slipped on a few others.
So, I’m going to post my goals for 2009 in three categories: personal development, music, and fitness. You ready? Let’s dance.
Personal Development
- Get my passport stamped.
- Draft an education plan.
- Reduce my personal effects by 90%.
- Build a useless, but awesome, web project.
- Brush up my Spanish and French.
- Learn Ruby on Rails and nail down object-oriented PHP.
- Learn to blog and build an audience.
- Make more friends and be more social.
- Save up $10,000.
Music
- Turn my 26 Stubs into completed tracks.
- Draft a practice plan for flute, clarinet, piano, and composition.
- Learn to play the guitar I bought in 1994.
- Build a more comprehensive sample library.
- Revive the Digeum podcast and continue posting Digeum Mix Sessions.
- Commit to writing 12 articles for Osteocephalic.
- Learn the ins and outs of Live, Reason, Logic, Traktor, ReCycle, and other software in my stable, including getting them to work in collaboration.
- Build a portable sound booth
- Learn to mix my tracks down so they sound really great.
Fitness
- Acquire a CrossFit Level 1 Certification.
- Buy a barbell and bumper plates.
- Achieve an 80% or greater completion rate for CrossFit workouts of the day.
- Lower my body fat percentage to below 10%.
- Return to the kayak.
- Build a reliable pullup bar in my garage (so I can do WODs on rainy days or without hauling a kettlebell and dumbbells to the park every time).
- Move the Personal Bests on pbwiki here.
- Get strong enough to successfully snatch and clean the 24 kg kettlebell and perform muscle ups.
- Set new personal bests in the benchmark WODs, specifically (current PRs in brackets):
