Embarrassing Election Screw-Up
Did you get one of those big round stickers with the Great Seal of the United States (or a really crappy approximation thereof)? I have a little gripe. Just like in the 2000 election and the 2002 mid-term election, there is a problem with the stickers.
If I look at the banner coming out of the eagle’s mouth in the middle of the sticker, it reads “E PLUREBUS UNUM.”
Yes, it does. Don’t believe me? Find one of those round stickers with the seal in the center.
Can you see what’s wrong? It’s nonsense. It should read: E PLURIBUS UNUM.
As an American voter, that fucking sticker is my REWARD for voting. How do you print a phrase like that on untold millions of stickers EVERY SINGLE YEAR? It’s not like that phrase is correctly spelled on anything. It’s only on every single piece of currency minted in the United States — paper or metal.
Maybe I’m nit-picky, but I’d rather whoever makes these stickers in whatever country they make them in misspelled “Presidential” or “Election.”
Can I get an amen?
