Dave’s Birthday
The retirement of Staple left me with a big gaping void for Saturday nights. Astral Matrix suggested Amnesia on the mission, where Jenö was reportedly spinning. I wandered to Valencia and 20th, circled about 17 blocks, and decided to head to Liquid instead. Circled 14 blocks there, and decided to head to the Rawhide to see who was replacing Staple. I would have ended up at Amnesia or Liquid if there was any parking within the same, say, county.
It was Dave’s birthday, whomever that is, and the crew (including a friend of some members of the Staple crew) played a very nice set of tech-house and deep house music. Patrick and Gigi were there, along with Sally and some other new people, including a singer from Instant Bro – a San Francisco-based soul cover band.
It was a good time, with numerous pretty people to dance around. Not bad, but still not Staple. Ah, well. All good parties must end.
